Teachers Of B.C.G.

Posted on January 17, 2010

English, Science, Maths, Sinhala and IT
Chemistry,  Bio, Commerce and Art
When what and how to do
Taught  them without much ado

Good manners,  habits and social grace
To problems with a smiling face
And forget enmity leaving no trace
That slow and steady wins the race

Every morning as we climbed BC hill
It wasn't  just walking to a tution  mill
Ready in body and mind after the morning drill
The way we taught gave them thrill

Without  rushing  home after lunch
Staying  late with the students bunch
Giving  food   of  thought  thought to munch
Not for a fee that was crunch

For being genius in what we do
Fame of wealth we do not woo
Dedicated TEACHERS  to the letter true
Great teachers of  BC power too

ODE to Bandaranayakans

Posted on December 15, 2009

Schooling may be ended within a few years. But the relationship between the dedicated teachers and pupils may last forever. The sweet memories that the students keep in their hearts are always unforgotten. Here is how a teacher of Bandaranayake, expresses what she feels about BC Boys.

Aurora, the goddess of dawn,
Steps down, with morning sun.
Hanging on her bright silvery gown.
I hear you come,  one by one.
Your little feet go up and down.
Dick-dock-Dick-dock, What a tune.
Soon a clatter-A host of lads
Light as white clouds floated down
Creeping into this heavenly lands
To put on your heads, a golden crown.

Sportive fawns soon you belong.
Pulling and pushing and rolling along
Genuine fighters,  joyful laughters,
Come to an end-are not for long.
Learning hard to reach the space
Reading and writing, What are race!
Bending before your beloved teachers
You go fast,a frenzied game.
Thousands of perfect skilled archers
Go behind, when you aim.

Soaring up the sky,  I see
Swooping down-the bottom of sea.
Marching towards the end of sand,
You gave your life, to sabe this land.
Throughout the world, wherever you go
Dominate the place – defeating the foe
Day by day, you write your name,
In Golden book of BC fame.
Kings of kings you could be,
BC boys, Hail to thee!
